Sainik School Entrance Exam 2018 for class VI and X


Sainik School Satara invites application from eligible and interested candidates for admission to Classes VI and IX standards, through All India Sainik School Entrance Exam for the academic year 2018-19 

Aim 
The primary aim of the school is to prepare boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy 

No. of Seats 
Class VI:  100 
Class IX: 5 
Estimated number of seats can be increased / decreased subject to pass out / withdrawals 

Eligibility Criteria 
Class VI: A boy seeking admission should have completed 10 years of age but not completed 11 years as on 01 July of the year of admission. He should not have appeared for Sainik School Entrance Examination from any other centre of India earlier 
Class IX: A boy seeking admission should have completed 13 year of age but not completed 14 years as on 01 July of the year of admission. The boy seeking admission to class IX should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school. He should not have appeared for Sainik School Entrance Examination for Class IX from any other center in India earlier 
Curriculum: 10+2 System of CBSE 

Selection Procedure 
Written Examination, Interview & Medical Examination 
Scheme of Written Exam: The AISSEE will be on OMR based system which has Multiple Choice Questions with four options. Question Paper for Class VI will be in English, Hindi & Regional language and for Class IX only in English 

Scholarships 
Merit, Income based and Defence Scholarships are available to eligible students. The Social Welfare & Tribal Welfare Departments, Govt. of A.P. awards scholarships to SC / ST boys of eligible parents based on their income, as per the rates in vogue 
All such scholarships are subject to adequate and timely release of funds from respective State Governments. Only one scholarship can be enjoyed by a student at any given time 

Reservation 
For Seats applicable to both class VI and IX: 
(i) For SC Candidates: 15% 
(ii) For ST Candidates: 71/2 % Seats 
(iii) Excluding SC & ST, 67% seats reserved for Home State (TN) candidates and balance 33% left over of seat will be thrown open to boys from other states and Union Territories and home State in order of merit 
(iv) 25% seats reserved for children of service personnel including Ex- Servicemen

Offline Prospectus-Cum-Application form can also be obtained from the school (by hand) on submission of Demand Draft in favour Principal Sainik School Satara payable at the State Bank of India. Drawn from SBI Only as per the cost mentioned below: 
Rs. 400/- (Gen/Def) 
Rs. 250/- (SC/ST) 
Payment through MO and IPO will not be accepted 
For SC/ST (Attaching of Xerox copy of boy’s caste certificate is compulsory). Prospectus-cum-Application Form can be obtained/submitted /registered online (school website). Sale of Prospectus w.e.f 16th October to 30th November 2017
