Dinabandhu Andrews College
 is a well known college in South 24 Parganas. This college offers UG courses in B.A., B.Com and B.Sc – pass and honours. This article provides you complete information related to online submission of application form, last date of submission, honours subjects offered, eligibility criteria, merit list publication etc of the college in year 2018.

This is for general information for all concerned that the Department of Higher Education, Science & Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal has published an order bearing No. 758-Edn(CS), dated 03.07.2018 which is self explanatory.
The candidates who would be provisionally selected for admission to different B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com. Courses (Hons/Major/General) are asked to pay admission fees online through the college website https://www.dacollege.org within the stipulated date and time to be mentioned in the respective admission lists to be published in due course.
The candidates are not required to visit the college for physical verification of documents. Verification of documents shall be done as and when required after commencement of classes.
The candidates who have already been selected for admission to different B.Sc. (Hons.) courses on 04.07.2018 are asked to pay admission fee online without being present in the college in person for physical verification of documents. The physical verification of documents shall be done as and when required after commencement of classes.

Eligibility Criteria as in 2017


Those who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2012 and onwards (i.e., in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

1.For General (=Pass) Courses
Passed 10+2 level examination of recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100
2.For Honours (=Advance) Courses
2.1. For candidates belonging to General Category
·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100
AND
·        Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

OR

·        Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject

OR

·        Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidatehas not  studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are fulfilled
2.2. For candidates belonging to SC /ST  Categories

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100
AND
·   Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)
·        at least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level
N.B. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
