2014 Lok Sabha election result was in favour of Congress. Mausom Noor of Congress defeated her nearest rival Khagen Murmu of CPI (M). Mausom Noor got 388,609 votes and won the Malda Uttar Lok Sabha constituency seat. Khagen Murmu got 322,904 votes
