West Bengal assembly election results of Pingla constituency


Constituency number: 227



In 2016 assembly election, Saumen Kumar Mahapatra of AITC won Pingla assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Prabodh Chandra Sinha of DSP. Saumen Kumar Mahapatra got 1,04,416 votes, Prabodh Chandra Sinha got 80,198 votes.

In 2011 assembly election, Prabodh Chandra Sinha of DSP (PC) won Pingla assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ajit Maity of Trinamool Congress. Prabodh Chandra Sinha got 84,738 votes, Ajit Maity got 83,504 votes and Sambhunath Hansda of BJP got 7,641 votes.
In 2006 state assembly elections, Ramapada Samanta of DSP (PC) defeated his nearest rival Hrishikesh Dinda of Trinamool Congress.

In 2001 West Bengal assembly elections, an independent candidate Rampada Samanta, Independent won this seat defeating Raj Kumar Das of Trinamool Congress.

In 1996 state assembly elections, Ramapada Samanta of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Swapan Dome of Congress.

In 1991 state assembly elections, Haripada Jana representing DSP (PC) defeated his nearest rival Saktipada Mahapatra of Congress. This was his fourth consecutive win from this assembly seat.

In 1987 state assembly elections, Haripada Jana, as an ndependent candidate won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Sukumar Das of Congress.
