In 2021 assembly election, Debnath Hansda of AITC won Binpur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Palan Soren of  BJP. Debnath Hansda got 100,277 votes and Palan Soren got 60,783 votes.

In 2016 assembly election, Khagendranath Hembram of AITC won Binpur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Dibakar Hansda of  CPI (M). Khagendranath Hembram got 95,804 votes, Dibakar Hansda got 46,481 votes.

In 2011 assembly election, Dibakar Hansda of CPI (M) won Binpur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Chunibala Hansda of Jharkhand Party (Naren). Dibakar Hansda got 60,728 votes, Chunibala Hansda got 53,118 votes and Arjun Hansda, an independent candidate got 14,459 votes.
