West Bengal assembly poll results of Bandwan constituency


Constituency number: 238

In 2011 assembly election, Susanta Besra of CPI (M) won Bandwan  assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Sital Chandra Hembram of Congress. Susanta Besra got 87,183 votes, Sital Chandra Hembram got 65,163 votes and Chunaram Hembram of JMM got 10,769 votes.


In 2006 state assembly polls, Upendra Nath Hansda of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Kamala Kanta Mandi of BJP.


 In 2001 West Bengal assembly polls, CPI (M) nominated candidate Upendra Nath Hansda won this seat defeating Birsing Murmu of JMM.


In 1996 state assembly polls, Lakhiram Kisku of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Sital Chandra Hembram of Congress.


In 1991 state assembly polls, Lakhiram Kisku of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Birsing Murmu of JMM.


In 1987 state assembly polls, Lakhiram Kisku of CPI (M) won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ramprasad Hansda of Congress.


In 1982 state assembly polls, Sudhansu Sekhar Majhi of CPI (M) won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Panchanan Soren, an Independent candidate.


In 1977 state assembly polls, Sudhansu Sekhar Majhi of CPI (M) won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Buddeswar Majhi of Congress.


In 1972 state assembly polls, Sital Chandra Hembram of Congress won this  Bandwan assembly seat.

In 1969 state assembly polls, Budheswar Majhi of Congress won this assembly seat.


In 1967 state assembly polls, Kandr Majhi won this assembly seat as an independent candidate.


In 1962 state assembly polls, Kandr Majhi of  Lok Sewak Sangh won this assembly seat.
