Admission to different courses in Visva-Bharati University




Online admission process for admission to different UG and PG courses in Visva-Bharati University will start from the month of May and the exact date is not yet announced. After completion of registration, filling up the application form for various undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, diploma, advance diploma courses will start.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.A. Honours - 3 years


Bengali
60% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Bengali (either in General or Elective Bengali) at 10+2 level
English
60% marks in aggregate with 60% marks in General English at 10+2 level
Sanskrit
45% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in Sanskrit at 10+2 level or 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level with Diploma in Sanskrit having 45% marks
Hindi
45% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in Hindi at 10+2 level which should be a full paper of 100 marks.
Oriya
45% marks in the aggregate and at least 45% marks in Oriya optional (elective) or MIL (Oriya) at 10+2 level final examination.
Philosophy
50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Logic/ Philosophy / Psychology at 10+2 level.
Comparative Religion
45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level in Humanities stream
Economics
55% marks in aggregate with pass marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level. Candidates who will be selected for admission to BA (Hons) in Economics must opt for Mathematics as subsidiary subject otherwise the admission is liable to be cancelled.
History
50% marks in the aggregate with 50% marks in History at 10+2 level 
A.I.H.C. & A.
45% marks in the aggregate for candidates who had AIWH as one of the elective subjects at 10+2 level 50% marks in aggregate for candidates who has History as an elective subject and/or Ancient Indian & World History/ History as the fourth subject at 10+2 level 55% marks in aggregate for candidates who did not have either AIWH or History as a subject at 10+2 level.
Geography
60% marks in the aggregate and 60% marks In Geography with a combination of and pass marks obtained in Mathematics/ Economics/ Statistics at 10+2 level or Students from Science stream must have Geography in their 10+2 level as major subject having 65% marks and 60% marks in aggregate with pass marks in mathematics/Statistics
Mathematics
At least 60% marks in the aggregate and 60% marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.A. Honours - 4 years

Persian (For Preparatory Course )
H.S. or equivalent without Persian as a subject with 45% marks in aggregate.

Persian for Honours Course (without preparatory)
45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level with Persian as a subject 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level without Persian but holding Diploma in Persian from Visva-Bharati or its equivalent from any other recognised institution
Tibetan
H.S. or its equivalent degree with at least a paper on Tibetan Language and 45% marks in aggregate. Candidates without having a paper on Tibetan language in H.S. may be admitted to 1 year preparatory course in Tibetan.
Chinese
45% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in English at 10+2 level
Japanese for Preparatory Course
Candidates should have 50% marks in aggregate with 45% marks in General English at 10+2 level

Japanese for Honours Course (without preparatory)
Candidates should have 50% marks in aggregate with 45% marks in General English at 10+2 level  candidates should have 45% marks in Japanese course equivalent to Certificate Course of Visva-Bharati  candidates who have passed the Japanese as an elective subject with 45% marks in Pre-degree examination of Visva-Bharati

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.A. Pass - 3 years
Vocational Functional Hindi
Eligibility criteria
45% marks in aggregate as well as in Hindi which should be a full paper of 100 marks and English as subject at 10+2 level.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.Sc. Honours - 3 years

Physics
At least 70% marks in the average obtained in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level
Chemistry
At least 65% marks in Chemistry with pass marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Mathematics
At least 60% marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Botany
At least 65% marks in Life Science / Biological Science at 10+2 level.
Zoology
At least 70% marks in Life Science / Biological Science at 10+2 level.
Statistics
At least 60% marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level or 60% marks in Statistics with at least pass marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Computer Science
At least 60% marks in the average obtained in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.


Eligibility Criteria for SC/ST candidates
Physics
Candidates must have pass marks in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Chemistry
Candidates must have pass marks in Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Mathematics/ Botany/ Zoology
Candidates must have pass marks in the relevant subject at 10+2 level.
Statistics
Candidates must have pass marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Computer Science
Candidates must have pass marks in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.Sc. (Ag) Honours - 4 years
Agriculture
Eligibility criteriaCandidates should have secured 60% marks in both the School certificate/ Madhyamik/ equivalent examination and Pre-degree/Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination (10+2) with pass marks of any four of the following subjects in the Pre-Degree/Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination  - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or Agronomy as Elective Subjects.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.Mus. Honours - 3 years

Eligibility criteria
Candidates must have passed the Pre-degree Examination of Visva-Bharati / West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent Examination (10+2) outside West Bengal with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.Fine ArtsHonours - 5 years

History of Art
School leaving certificate/ Madhyamik of Visva-Bharati or equivalent with at least 65% marks and necessary aptitude.
Others
School leaving certificate/ Madhyamik of Visva-Bharati or equivalent with necessary aptitude.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.P.E. Honours -3 years

Passed H.S. (10+2) or equivalent with minimum 45% marks in aggregate from any recognised Board/Council/University and State level participation in games/sports which may be of State Inter School, State Inter College etc. and age must be in between 17 and 22 years for general canidates and for sports person or Sc/St candidates age must be in between 17 and 24.

Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.S.W. Honours - 3 years

Eligibility criteria
55% marks in in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from recognised Board or Institute having any of the following subjects - Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology/ Statistics/ Philosophy/ Psychology/ History/ Geography/ Economics/ Political Science/ AIHCA/ Commerce/ Home Science/ Nutrition/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Management subjects.


Subjects and eligibility criteria of B.Ed. 1year


For fresher candidates Should have B.A. Hons. / B.Sc. Hons. Degree with at least 45% marks in Honours subject Should have 3 years B.A./ B.Sc. / B.Mus. ( 4 years Rabindra Sangit) degree with at least 45% in aggregate, where no separate course as Honours subject are taught.
