Selection Procedure for M.Phil Courses

For Sociology and
Selection of candidates will be made in order of merit,

ascertained on the basis of 50% weight on marks obtained in

Philosophy
an admission test* and 50% weight on aggregate marks in


Master's programme.




For Economics, English,


History, Sanskrit, Bengali,
Selection  of  candidates  will  be  made  in  order  of  merit,

Comparative Literature,
ascertained on the basis of marks obtained in an admission test*.

* The candidate must secure at least 50% marks in the written admission test for consideration in the merit list for admission.


Duration of the examination: Two hours (two and a half hours for Economics)
