In 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal, Manik Bhattacharya of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Bibash Chandra Mondal of BJP. Manik Bhattacharya got 110,274 votes while Bibash Chandra Mondal got 58,938 votes.
In 2016 assembly elections in West Bengal, Tapas Kumar Saha of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival S.M.Sadi of CPI (M). Tapas Kumar Saha got 82,127 votes while S,M,Sadi got 76,568 votes.
