Hritojeet Chottopadhyay and his debut film Kelo

Hritojeet Chottopadhyay is a popular name in Bengali TV serials. Hritojeet is making his debut in Bengali films with film Kelo. Shooting of the film Kelo has started.

Story of the film Kelo revolves around a slum dweller named ‘Kelo’ who finds himself at a landlady named Anuradha’s house on a rainy night. Apparently. Anuradha has lost her husband and son only a few days ago. Few doctors were responsible who had conspired against Anuradha in a bid to cover up for a malpractice going on at the hospital. 

Kelo’s face resembles that of Anuradha’s son. Anuradha starts a revenge mission and plants Kelo in the nursing home. From this point, climax of the film starts.

Film Kelo is directed by Shankar Roy and the cast of the film includes Hritojeet, Mani Bhattacharya, Laboni Sarkar, Mrinal Mukherjee, Rajesh Sharma, Bodisatwa Majumdar and others.

Unique Features of Bengali film Amazon Obhijaan

Bengali film Amazon Obhijaan is all set to break many records in Bengali film industry as well as in Indian Film industry. This film has been shot in the Amazon forest and the budget is Rs 20 crores. Film Amazon Obhijaan may be a trend setter for Bengali films.

“We have packed in everything that Bengali movies haven’t seen before. From extensive use of VFX, to shoot at exotic locations and a whopping budget. Amazon Obijaan is breaking stereotypes associated with Tollywood films,” said Mahendra Soni, co-founder  and director at SVF.

The first film in the franchisee, Chander Pahar also introduced new concepts in Bengali film industry Film Chander Pahar was released in 2013 and the film was shot in South Africa.

Recently a 320-feet long and 190-feet wide poster of Amazon Obhijaan was unveiled at the Mohun Bagan football ground in Kolkata. Film Amazon Obhijaan is also coming up with a graphic novel with the entire story line of the film.


The film stars Tollywood hero Dev in the lead and is directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee. Laboni Sarkar will be seen playing the role of Dev's mother in the film.

Film Amazon Obhijaan will be released on 22 December 2017.

Chander Pahar 2 will start from March this year

After the grand success of Chander Pahar, director Kamaleswar Mukherjee is getting prepared for the sequel of Chander Pahar. Shooting of film Chander Pahar 2 will start from March this year in the Amazon rainforests.

Dev was seen battling black mambas and lions in film Chander Pahar and this time he will be seen in many dangerous scenes. Dev has started training in horse riding and swimming for film Chander Pahar 2.

Director of film Chander Pahar 2 said that base camp of the shooting team will be Manaus in Brazil and they will shoot extensively in the two rivers, Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes. There will be many underwater shots and Dev is getting prepared for it. In film Chander Pahar 2 anacondas, black caimans, jaguars, rattlesnakes and many other animals will be seen.

Dev will play the lead role and Bengali actress Laboni Sarkar will be Dev’s mother in film Chander Pahar 2. There will be 10 actors from Brazil.
