Rakesh Roshan changed the release date Kaabil to 25 January from 26 January to avoid clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees, Shah Rukh Khan has also changed his film's release date to 25 January 2017. Rakesh Roshan is not happy with the change of release date for film Raees. Rakesh Roshan said, "Whatever dates we are taking, they are following us. I would have never done the same. I belong to an old school of filmmaking and I have given 50 years of my life to the industry. I would never release my film on a day when another filmmaker has already announced their film. I decided to remove Krrish 4 also from Christmas 2018 because I saw SRK's film is coming that day. I could have easily released my film with Befikre or even with Dangal if I had to clash. But when I announced the film in February, I saw a clean window in January and hence I picked the date. I can't get into this new groove of things because I don't understand it."
In response to Rakesh Roshan's statement, Shah Rukh said, "Actually humne bahut pehle decide kar liya tha because pehle dono filmein chabbis ko aa rahi thi. I think humne apna discussion wahaan khatam kar liya tha jahaan par humein maloom pad gaya tha ki dono filmein saath mein aa rahi hain. So we had decided with our exhibitors and distributors ki hum pachchis ko aa rahe hain. And I think Kaabil ab shaam ke shows mein aa rahi hai, we will come at the regular shows. So aisa kuch takleef ki baat nahin hai ki unke baad decide kiya unhonein pehle decide kiya. I think yeh logical decision hai chabbis ko chutti hai usse pehle agar aap thoda sa fayda lele evening shows ka ya day shows ka."
So there is a clash between Raees and Kaabil - Shah Rukh and Hrithik but there might be another clash between Shah Rukh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The clash would be on their performance in the film.
