Legendary Actor Soumitra Chatterjee Is Dead

 November 15, 2020 (12.15 PM): Soumitra Chatterjee is dead. The legendary actor died at 12:15 Pm today

 November 15, 2020: Soumitra Chatterjee’s condition is very critical. The actor is nor responding to medicine. Only miracle can bring back the legendary actor from deep coma.

November 14, 2020: Soumitra Chatterjee’s condition worsens

November 13, 2020: Condition of Soumitra Chatterjee is not good. Suddenly his condition has deteriorated. 

“The situation is not that good. His condition has deteriorated. The neurological condition is the worst since his admission. The GCS count is around five. An EEG examination showed very little activity in the brain. There were no convulsions though. His heartbeat rate was very high but it has now been controlled. His blood pressure was also high. For the first time his oxygen requirement has gone up,” said Dr Arindam Kar, head of the team of doctors treating Chatterjee.

“Chatterjee’s kidney functions are not good and he is on dialysis. The coagulation function is the only good part in this entire scenario. But overall it seems that the situation will not be good in the coming 24 hours. For the first time we are expecting an unfavourable outcome. We are giving our best but it seems our best may not be adequate for the recovery of Chatterjee,” said Dr Kar.

November 07, 2020:  Soumitra Chatterjee is responding still he is in critical condition. Soumitra is still on the ventilator and was yet to regain consciousness. 

November 02, 2020:  Condition of the actor has deteriorated again. Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee was given blood transfusion on Sunday after his haemoglobin count fluctuated as his condition remained critical.

October 30, 2020: The legendary actor opening his eyes and blood pressure is under control. Soumitra Chatterjee is still in ventilation but no fever. Hope everything is moving in positive direction.

 October 29, 2020: Sign of improvement is observed. Second dialysis done on October 29.

October 28, 2020: Soumitra Chatterjee's condition remains the same. The doctors are now struggling with new challenges of 'secondary infections' and its repercussions.

October 25, 2020: Soumitra Chatterjee is not responding to treatment, according to doctors. Doctors said that condition of the actor is very critical.

October 15, 2020: Good News!!! Soumitra Chatterjee tests corona virus negative. His condition has also improved. The legendary actor is still in an “acute confusional state.” However, the doctors added that he is responding to verbal commands and is opening his eyes at times.

 October 14, 2020: Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee continued to remain in a critical state on Tuesday even though his neurological status marginally improved.

“Confused, restless, mild agitation, arousable, GCS-E3M5V2, involuntary limb movements but no focal or generalised seizures event occured, no focal neuro deficit. Marginal improvement in neurological status,” read the medical bulletin

October 13, 2020: Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee is critical and has been put on ventilation. As per the latest reports, he has been on BiPap ventilation. CM Mamata Banerjee may go to Bellevue Hospital today.

October 12, 2020: The health condition of iconic Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee marginally improved on Sunday and he no longer needs oxygen support.

Chatterjee was given plasma therapy twice on Saturday and the octogenarian also underwent a CT scan, he said.

 October 6, 2020: Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee is found Corona positive and he is admitted to Bellevue Hospital. As per report from hospital authority, condition of the legendary actor is stable.

Soumitra Chatterjee is sick since few days and he was advised for Corona test. The report of the test came positive. Shooting at Tollywood started with all precautions and Soumitra Chatterjee also started working. 

Soumitra was born in Surya Sen Street, Kolkata in 1935. The first ten years of his early life past in Krishnanagar in the district of Nadia in West Bengal. 

Soumitra Chatterjee studied in the Howrah Zilla School and Calcutta during his early years. Soumitra graduated from the City College, Kolkata with honours in Bengali literature, as a graduating student of the University of Calcutta. He studied for his M.A. in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. While still a student, he learnt acting under noted actor-director of Bengali theatre Ahindra Choudhury.

Shooting of the film ‘Sanjhbati' has been started and actress Arpita Chatterjee announced she is no longer a part of the film because the role she has been offered doesn’t look convincing to her.

“I had said during the announcement press meet that I agreed to do the film without even knowing the story. But when I heard about the character I am supposed to play it didn’t excite me. You all know, I only say yes when the character, the story attract me. But in ‘Sanjhbati’ I couldn’t feel the excitement. I am so unfortunate not to be a part of this film,” explained Arpita Chatterjee.

It is learnt that thespian Sohini Sengupta is set to play the role Arpita was offered initially. Other actors in the film are Soumitra Chatterjee, Dev and Paoli Dam. The story of this film revolves around an elderly woman, Lily Chakraborty will essay the role.

Abir and Tanusree in film Flat No 609

Abir Chatterjee and Tanusree Chakraborty will be seen together in a thriller movie - Flat No 609, directed by Arindam Bhattacharya.

Plot of the film Flat No 609 is based on a newly married couple who are searching for flat at Rajarhat. The couple came in contact with a house broker and finally got a flat on rent but number of strange conditions are applied on them. Sometimes they have to close a certain door of the flat, sometimes the maid refused to come in work after noon time. The neighbors are also strange types. 

Abir Chatterjee is playing the role of an IT professional in film Flat No 609. Sohini is Abir's wife in the film. The other actors are Soumitra Chatterjee, Mamata Shankar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh and others. 

Earlier Sohini Sarkar was supposed to do the lead female role but due to unknown reasons, she is out and Tanusree is the lead actress in the film.

Bengali Film Mayurakshi - story cast and crew of the movie

Soumitra Chatterjee and Prosenjit are all set to team up together in Bengali film Mayurakshi. Veteran legendary actor Soumitra and Prosenjit will be father and son in film Mayurakshi.

Atanu Ghosh is the director of the film Mayurakshi and Soumitra Chatterjee will play the character of a professor.

Soumitra and Prosenjit have jointly worked in 38 movies so far and this is the sixth film of Soumitra Chatterjee with Atanu Ghosh. Mayurakshi also stars Gargee Roy Chowdhury, Indrani Halder and Sudipta Chakraborty, among others.

Film Mayurakshi, the result of that thought conceived almost four years ago, is ready to go on the floors this August. Ronodeep Bose was riding a bike with a friend riding pillion when the vehicle hit a cemented wall near his home in New Alipore. The accident happened at around 2 am. Ronodeep was driving the bike and his bike hit a cemented wall. Ronodeep's friend, Joy, who was travelling with him sustained multiple fractures, but is better than Ronodeep. The entire family, including Soumitra, is at the Institute of Neurosciences, where Ronodeep is currently admitted and undergoing treatment.

First story of film Andarkahini revolves around a daughter and her father. The daughter takes care of her ill father. A normal father-daughter relationship turns into different angle. Priyanka Sarkar is the daughter and Siddhartha Chottopadhyay is playing the role of the father. Anindya Chottopadhyay is in the role of Priyan’s boyfriend in this film.

In the seconf story, Priyanka Sarkar is playing the role of Bulti, a girl who’s parents have died. Bulti and Bulti’s elder brother are living together they have a good relationship. The brother and sister manage a tea stall as their source of income. Sumit Sammader is in the role of Bulti’s elder brother. One day Bulti felt in a great trouble but got no support from her elder brother. Actor Rajesh Sharma is also in this part of the film Andarkahini.

The third story is between two girls who are friends. Sayani is a town girl and Laxmi is a village girl. Sayani Ghosh is in the role of Sayani and Priyanka Sarkar will be seen in the role of Laxmi. The girls met accidentally and came closer but a different relationship appears.

In the fourth story, Priyanka Sarkar is Priya and she is married. Priya and her husband are happily married couple but they took a challenge to prove their love for each other.

Soumitra Chottopadhyay is playing the pivotal rile in the film.

The film will be released in Kolkata in 2017.
