Waheeda Rehman in Bengali film Arshinagar

Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman will be seen in Aparna Sen’s film Arshinagar — a film based on Romeo-Juliet.

Dev and Rittika Sen (Ritika Sen) are in leading roles of the film and very soon Waheeda Rehman will be seen in shooting floor. Waheeda Rehman earlier acted in Aparna Sen’s film 15 Park Avenue. Waheeda Rehman will play the role of Dadijaan of Julekha Khan. Dadijaan is a loving grandmother who is very indulgent about Julekha. Ritika Sen is Julekha in film Arshinagar.

The other main characters in film Arshinagar will be portrayed by Roopa Ganguly, Kaushik Sen and Jisshu Sengupta. Roopa and Kaushik are son and daughter of Dadijaan in film Arshinagar. Ritika Sen is Kaushik Sen's daughter in film Arshinagar ans Roopa Ganguly's son is Jisshu Sengupta. Jisshu plays a negative role in film Arshinagar.

Actress Jaya Seal Ghosh plays the role of mother of Dev in film Arshinagar while filmmaker Kamaleswar Mukherjee is Ritika's music teacher.

Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman praises Vidya Balan

During her time, Waheeda Rehman experimented with unconventional critical roles. Waheeda Rehman dared to work in films like Guide and Teesri Kasam. Waheeda Rehman  has recently expressed that she finds a reflection of herself in Vidya Balan.

Waheeda Rehman was asked to comment on current time actresses who is like her. In response, Waheeda Rehman said the name of Vidya Balan.

Waheeda Rehman clarified her statement saying that she did Guide where her role was of a vamp. During her time no leading actress dared to do such a role.
