In 2021 West Bengal assembly election, Bibhas Sardar of Trinamool Congress won Baruipur Purba assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Chandan Mondal of BJP. Bibhas Sardar got 123,243 votes and Chandan Mondal got 73,602 votes.
In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Nirmal Mandal of Trinamool Congress won Baruipur Purba assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Sujoy Mistri of CPI (M). Nirmal Mandal got 92,313 votes, Sujoy Mistri got 71,951 votes.
In 2011 West Bengal assembly election, Nirmal Mandal of Trinamool Congress won Baruipur Purba assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Bimal Mistri of CPI (M). Nirmal Mandal got 83,636 votes, Bimal Mistri got 65,157 votes and Tapas Naskar of BJP got 5,432 votes.
