In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Partha Chottopadhyay of Trinamool Congress won Behala Paschim assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Kaustav Chatterjee of CPI (M). Partha Chottopadhyay got 1,02,114 votes and Kaustav Chatterjee got 93,218 votes.
