In 2021 assembly election, Tapash Chatterjee of Trinamool Congress won Rajarhat New Town assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Bhaskar Roy of BJP. Tapash Chatterjee got 127,374 votes and Bhaskar Roy of BJP got 70,942 votes.

In 2016 assembly election, Sabyasachi Dutta of Trinamool Congress won Rajarhat New Town assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Narendra Nath Chatterjee of CPI (M).

In 2011 assembly election, Sabyasachi Dutta of Trinamool Congress won Rajarhat New Town assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Tapash Chatterjee of CPI (M). Sabyasachi Dutta got 80,738votes, Tapash Chatterjee got 72,991 votes and Priyalal Dutta of BJP got 3,827 votes.
