West Bengal assembly election results of Purulia constituency



Constituency number: 242


In 2011 assembly election, Kamakshya Prasad Singh Deo of  Trinamool Congress won Purulia assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Koushik Majumdar of CPI (M). Kamakshya Prasad Singh Deo got 83,396 votes, Koushik Majumdar got 56,909 votes and Panchkari Mukherjee of BJP got 3,630 votes.


In 2006 state assembly elections, Nikhil Mukherjee of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Dr. Sukumar Roy of Congress.


In 2001 West Bengal assembly elections, CPI (M) nominated candidate Nikhil Mukherjee won this seat defeating Kamakshya Prasad Singh Deo of Trinamool Congress.


In 1996 state assembly elections, Mamata Mukherjee of CPI (M) defeated her nearest rival Sukumar Roy of Congress. From 1982 to 1996, both CPI (M) and Congress nominated same candidates and for consecutive third times, from 1987 to 1996 Mamata Mukherjee of CPI (M) defeated Sukumar Roy of Congress.

In 1967 state assembly elections, Bibhuti Bhusan Dasgupta, an independent candidate won this assembly seat.


In 1962 state assembly elections, Tara Pada Roy of Congress won this assembly seat.
