This is a new assembly constituency after delimitation.
In the 2021 election in West Bengal state, Biplab Mitra of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Nilanjan Roy of BJP and won the Harirampur assembly seat. Biplab Mitra got 96,131 votes and Nilanjan Roy got 73,459 votes.
In the 2016 election in West Bengal state, Rafikul Islam of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Biplab Mitra of AITC and won the Harirampur assembly seat.
In the 2011 election in West Bengal state, Biplab Mitra of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Narayan Biswas of CPI(M) and won the Harirampur assembly seat.
