In the 2016 elections, Suvendu Adhikari of Trinamool Congress won the Nandigram assembly seat.

In the 2011 elections, Firoza Bibi of Trinamool Congress defeated her nearest rival Paramananda Bharati of CPI and won the Nandigram assembly seat.
In 2009 by election, Firoza Bibi of Trinamool Congress won this assembly seat defeating Paramananda Bharati of CPI.

In 2006 state assembly elections, Illiyas Mahammad Sk. of CPI defeated her nearest rival Sk. Supian of Trinamool Congress.

In 2001 West Bengal assembly elections, CPI nominated candidate lliyas Mahammad Sk. won this seat defeating Sunil Baran Maiti of Trinamool Congress.

In 1996 state assembly elections, Debisankar Panda of Congress defeated his nearest rival Sakti Bal of CPI.

In 1991 state assembly elections, Sakti Bal of CPI defeated his nearest rival Debi Sankar Panda of Congress.

In 1987 state assembly elections, Sakti Bal of CPI won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Debi Sankar Panda of Congress.

In 1982 state assembly elections, Bhupal Chandra Panda of CPI won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ramesh Chandra Gharai of Congress.

In 1977 state assembly elections, Prabir Jana of Janata Party won this assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Bhupal Chandra Panda of CPI.

Bhupal Chandra Panda of CPI won this assembly for four consecutive times from 1967 to 1972.
