In 2016 state assembly elections in West Bengal, Ashok Kumar Dinda of CPI defeated his nearest rival Nirbed Roy of AITC and won the Tamluk assembly seat.

In 2011 state assembly elections in West Bengal, Dr. Somen Mahapatra of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Jagannath Mitra of CPI and won the Tamluk assembly seat.
In 2006 state assembly elections, Jagannath Mitra of CPI defeated his nearest rival Chittaranjan Maiti of Trinamool Congress.

In 2001 West Bengal assembly elections, Trinamool Congress nominated candidate Nirbed Roy won this seat defeating Santosh Rana of CPI.

In 1996 state assembly elections, Anil Mudi of Congress defeated his nearest rival Susrajit Bagchi of CPI for the consecutive second time.

In 1991 state assembly elections, Anil Mudi of Congress defeated his nearest rival Susrajit Bagchi of CPI.

In 1987 state assembly elections, Surajit Bagchi of CPI defeated his nearest rival Anil Mudi of Congress.

In 1982 state assembly elections, Biswanath Mukherjee of CPI defeated his nearest rival Sukumar Das of ICS.

In 1977 state assembly elections, Biswanath Mukherjee of CPI defeated his nearest rival Sukumar Das of Congress.

From 1951 to 1972, Ajoy Mukherjee won this Tamluk seat in all assembly elections although he represented either Congress or Bangla Congress.

In 1972 assembly elections Ajoy Mukherjee represented Congress.

In 1971, 1969 and 1967 assembly elections Ajoy Mukherjee represented Bangla Congress and in 1962, 1957 and 1951 elections he represented Congress.
