In 2011 state assembly elections in West Bengal, Kashinath Mishra of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Pratip Mukherjee of CPI (M) and won the Bankura assembly seat.
In the 2006 state assembly poll, Partha De of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Kashi Nath Mishra of AITC.

In the 2001 state assembly poll, Kashi Nath Mishra of AITC defeated his nearest rival Partha De of CPI (M).

In the 1996 state assembly poll, Partha De of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Ashish Chakraborty of INC.

In the 1991 state assembly poll, Partha De of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Kashi Nath Mishra of INC.

In the 1987 state assembly poll, Partha De of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Kashi Nath Mishra of INC.

In the 1982 state assembly poll, Kashi Nath Mishra of INC defeated his nearest rival Partha De of CPI (M).

In the 1977 state assembly poll, Partha De of CPI (M) defeated his nearest rival Anandi Kundu of JNP.
