Eligibility Criteria




1.B.COM. HONOURS
WEST BENGAL COUNCIL / OTHER BOARD

HONOURS IN ACCOUNTING & FINANCE
For General Category :
·         50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Accountancy.
·         55% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Maths / Stats.(For Science Students).
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% marks in aggregate OR 40% marks in related Subject.
For Physically Challenged and For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% marks in aggregate OR 45% marks in related Subject.
The Merit list for admission in B.COM (H) will be prepared on the basis of the best 4 total to which their subject score (Accountancy/Math/Stat/Business Studies) will be added.
Note:
1. The word ‘Subject’ or ‘related Subject’ for B.Com Honours in Accounting & Finance will denote that the applicant must study any of the following subjects.
Accountancy, Business Economics including Business Mathematics, Business Organization , Mathematics,Business Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, Office and Secretarial Practice, Financial Accounting, Elements of Cost Accountancy and Auditing, Book Keeping,Commerce, Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management,Commercial Law and Preliminaries of Auditing,Costing and Taxation.

2.B.A / B. Sc. HONOURS
All applicants aspiring to take up Honours in Education , History & Political Science will have to appear in an Admission Test in their respective medium of instruction. The Test will be of 25 Marks based on unseen topics such as comprehension test and paragraph writing and will be of one hour duration. The date of Test will be 7 th June 2016 and the Time will be 8.00AM to 9.00AM. They must bring their Application Deposit Receipt / Challan with them which will be treated as their Admit card. The Marks they will score will be added with the Best 4 Marks and the respective subject Marks to prepare the Merit List.
The Applicant aspiring to take up Honours in English, Bengali, Geography & Economics should take note that the Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the best 4 total and their in the respective subject which will be added together.

(a) GEOGRAPHY HONOURS
For General Category :
·         55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in Geography.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Geography.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Geography.
( There will be counselling for Geography Honours )
(b) ENGLISH HONOURS
For General Category :
·         55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in English.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject.
( There will be counselling for English Honours )
(c) BENGALI HONOURS
For General Category :
·         55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Bengali.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject.
(d) POLITICAL SCIENCE HONOURS
For General Category :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 55% Marks in subject or related subject.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Political Science.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject OR 55% Marks in Political Science.
(e) HISTORY HONOURS
For General Category :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 55% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in History.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject.
(f) EDUCATION HONOURS
For General Category :
·         55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in subject or related subject.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :
·         40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Education or related subject.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject or related subject.
EDUCATION HONOURS :
The subject Psychology / Philosophy / Mathematics / Sociology / Economics / Political Science/History be treated as related subject.
(g) ECONOMICS HONOURS
For General Category :
·         60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Mathematics/or 60% Marks in Business Mathematics or Economics.
For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category:
·         40% marks in aggregate and 40% marks inMathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
·         50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in SubjectMathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.
For ECONOMICS Honours :
A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if she has passed in Mathematics at the H.S.Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of H.S.Education or its Equivalent examination in Mathematics/Business Mathematics. Students who have passed Business Economics including Business Mathematics in H.S. (10+1) level from West Bengal Council of H.S. Education are also eligible for admission in the Honours Course in Economics..

GENERAL COMBINATION WITH GEOGRAPHY
·         45% Marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Geography.
GENERAL COMBINATION WITHOUT GEOGRAPHY
·         Candidate who has passed the H.S Examination (10+2 Course) is eligible for making Online Admission.
Admission will start as per CU Circular.
Candidates offering Elective English & Elective Bengali must have secured 45% Marks in aggregate and 50% Marks in respective Subjects.
For B.Sc. General with Botany as Combination, Candidates intend to take up Botany as Combination subject must have Botany or Biology or Bio-Technology at Higher Secondary Level..
