In 2021 assembly election, Aroop Biswas of Trinamool Congress won Tollygaunj  assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Babul Supriyo of BJP. Aroop Biswas got 101,440 votes and Babul Supriyo got 51,360 votes.

In 2016 assembly election, Aroop Biswas of Trinamool Congress won Tollygaunj  assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Madhuja Sen Roy of CPI (M). Aroop Biswas got 90,603 votes, Madhuja Sen Roy got 80,707 votes.

In 2011 assembly election, Aroop Biswas of Trinamool Congress won Tollygaunj  assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Partha Pratim Biswas of CPI (M). Aroop Biswas got 102,743 votes, Partha Pratim Biswas got 75,063 votes and Bibekananda Sinha Roy of BJP got 2,931 votes.
