Bishnupur is a town of Bankura district. This town is different from other places with its own culture and craft. Any discussion on Bankura district without Bishnupur is impossible. Few words about the history of Bishnupur
For long time Bishnupur was under the Malla rulers. It was the capital of the Malla Kings. That’s why this place is also known as Mallabhum. The Vaishanav Malla rulers built the famous terracotta temples here during the 17th and 18th Century. Since then the terracotta style of art charms tourists from different parts of India, even from outside India.

Malleshwar temple: The temple was built by Bir Singh in 1622.

Madan-Mohan temple: This temple was built by Durjan Singh in 1694.
