Constituency number: 283

In 2021 assembly election, Bidhan Upadhyay of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Arijit Roy of BJP. Bidhan Upadhyay got 88,430 votes and Arijit Roy got 64,973 votes.

In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Bidhan Upadhyay of Trinamool Congress won this Barabani assembly seat.

In 2011 assembly election, Bidhan Upadhyay of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Abhas Raychaudhuri of CPI (M). Bidhan Upadhyay got 78,628 votes, Abhas Raychaudhuri got 58,051 votes and Biswanath Roy of BJP got 4,980 votes.
Dilip Sarkar of CPI (M) won this assembly seat in assembly elections 2006 defeating his nearest rival Manik Upadhyay of Trinamool Congress.
