In 2007 assembly election of Gujarat state, Jotva Rajsibhai Virabhai of BJP defeated Barad Jasabhai Bhanabhai of INC and won the Somnath assembly seat. 

In 2002 assembly election of Gujarat state, Barad Jesabhai Bhanabhai of INC defeated Gohel Chunilal Kanji of BJP and won the Somnath assembly seat. 

In 1998 assembly election of Gujarat state, Gohel Chunilal Kanji of BJP defeated Panja Nusarat Alibhai of INC and won the Somnath assembly seat.
