Year 2014 Admission to Basanti Devi College in B.A., B.SC., Major andGeneral Courses

Application forms for admission to B.A. & B.Sc Honours, major and general courses in Basanti Devi College will be available from 2 June 2014. Students who have passed the higher secondary (10+2) examination on or after 2011 are eligible for admission in the college.

 Important Dates Related to Admission in Basanti Devi College

 Issue of application forms: 2 June to 10 June between 11.30 a.m. & 2.30 p.m. on

production of original mark sheet and payment of Rs.200/- (hons) & Rs. 150 (general).

Both original marksheet & admit card are required.

Submission of application form: 3 June, 2014 to 11 June, 2014 between 12 noon & 3 p.m.

Copy of h.s. (10+2) mark sheet (in duplicate) and Madhyamik ( 10th) admit card will have to be attached With the application form.

Filled up Admission Forms to be dropped in the Drop-Box placed outside the office room.

 Merit List Publication: 25  June 2014 after 3 P.M. in college notice board. Merit Lists will also be published in the college website www.basantidevicollege.edu.in

Eligibility for issuance of forms for honours course:

 For English & Bengali honours :

Minimum 50% in aggregate and Minimum 55% inSubject.

 For other honours subjects:

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination OR 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.

 Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled

Tribe , O.B.C community taking up Honours course of study must have obtained minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

General candidates required to score minimum pass marks to take the admission form.

C.U norms for issuing forms to SC/ST / OBC ( A & B) Candidates. Minimum marks for SC/ST/ OBC (A&B) for Honours courses 40% aggregate or 40% marks in relevant or related subject.  Minimum pass marks for SC/ST/ OBC (A&B) for General Course (SC/ST Certificate must be produced).
