Common Admission Test - CAT 2014




In this article you will get complete information about the CAT examination 2014.


Eligibility 


Minimum graduate candidates with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST/DA/PWD) or having an equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of HRD, Government of India can only apply.


Candidates appearing the final year of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree course and are awaiting results can also apply.



  Selection Criteria 


Selection will be done through a test consist of two sections


Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation : 50 questions

Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning : 50 questions


Candidates can switch over from one section to another section at any time during the examination which will be of 170 minutes


  Reservation  of Seats


15.00%           Scheduled Caste (SC)

7.50% Scheduled Tribe (ST)

27.00%           Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer

3.00% Differently Abled (DA) 

  Important Dates 


Date of commencement of online registration   :           6 August 2014 (Wednesday)

Last date of registration      :           30 September 2014 (Tuesday)

Download of Admit Card    :           16 October 2014 (Thursday)

CAT exam dates (forenoon and afternoon sessions)   :           16 November 2014 (Sunday)

And 22 November 2014 (Saturday)

Tentative dates for Results            :           Third week of December 2014


  How to Apply 


•           Register online at the CAT website with a registration fee of Rs. 1600/- (General / NC-OBC) and Rs. 800/- (SC / ST / PWD-DA).

•           Payment of registration fee can be done through online modes only including credit card, debit card or through net banking.

•           You do not have the option of choosing you preferred slot this time

•           You must show original mark sheets and submit photocopies to prove your eligibility at the time of interview. Further, if you are selected for a programme, original degree certificate and mark sheets along with your photocopies must be submitted for verification at the time of joining the programme.
