Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharat Ratna

 

Recently Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that previous Congress-led UPA government should have conferred Bharat Ratna to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

 

Senior BJP leader and Vajpayee Ji’s long time partner LK Advani is keen on awarding the Bharat Ratna to A B Vajpayee. Meanwhile Narendra Modi government will observe 25 December 2014 as 'Good Governance Day'. 25 December is the birthday of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and there is a rumour that the ex-Prime Minister (11th Prime Minister of India) may get the Bharat Ratna on his birthday – 25 December 2014.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health is not doing well since long. A B Vajpayee underwent knee replacement surgery in 2001 and in 2009 he suffered a stroke. Now Atal Ji is confined in his house and only limited visitors visit the great politician with a strong foresight.
