Eligibility Criteria as in 2016

1. For admission in General courses(B.A., B.Com) the minimum criteria is pass marks in H.S. or equivalent examination. 

2. For admission in B.Com. Honours in Accountancy, minimum criteria is 45% marks in aggregate in Commerce stream in H.S. or equivalent exam excluding Environmental Studies. For students from Science stream the aggregate should be at least 50% (excluding the marks of Environmental Studies) and 50% marks in Mathematics. No candidate with Arts in H.S. or equivalent exam will be allowed to take admission in Commerce General or Honours. 

3. For admission in B.A. Honours in Arts, minimum criteria is 45% marks in aggregate in Arts stream in H.S. or equivalent exam (excluding the marks of Environmental Studies)and 45% in the subject applied for. For students from Science stream the aggregate should be at least 50% (excluding the marks of Environmental Studies) and 45% marks in the subject applied for. 

4. A candidate can apply for more than one Honours subjects and in that case he/she has to pay Rs.100/- for each subject separately. 

5. For candidates who passed H.S. or eqivalent exam between 2013and 2015, 5% marks will be deducted from the aggregate during preparation of merit list. 

6. Each candidate should read thoroughly the subject combinations available in the website. 

 7. Reservation policies(SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PH) of the Government will be followed.

9. Admission will be made strictly as per intake capacity stipulated by the University of Burdwan.
