Eligibily Criteria
Calculation of Aggregate:
1. For all applicants
having TWO Language subjects: Total of the
‘Aggregate = First
Language + Second Language + Best Three (3) out of the remaining 4 (Four)
subjects.
(For Candidates with
2nd language irrespective of Board follow this rule)
2. For all applicants
having only ONE Language subjects: Total of the ‘Aggregate = Language + Best
Four (4) out of the remaining subjects.
(For Candidates
without 2nd language irrespective of Board follow this rule)
3. Compulsory
Environmental Studies will NOT be considered in either case.
Cut-off Marks in B.A. / B.Sc. Honours Subjects:
As per the norms of the Burdwan University all candidates (including
reserved category) should have at least 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level.
In addition to that they have to secure the minimum marks in concerned and / or
allied subjects as stated below.

Cut-off Marks in GENERAL Courses:
a. For B.A. General Course:
All Categories: Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each
(excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination.
b. For B.Sc. General
Course (Physical Science):
All Categories: Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each
(excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination with
Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Geography.
c. For B.Sc. General
Course (Biological Science):
All Categories: Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each
(excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) with Biological Science and
Chemistry / Geography.
If a candidate is
willing to take Music as a combination subject she has to appear before the
interview board.
