Procedure of Online Application:

§  Eligible candidates must register themselves on the college admission portal and then proceed to online application.

§  During the application, all fields mentioned on the application form should be correctly entered after careful consideration. Candidates should revise and preview their application forms before final submission. No change/editing is possible once the final submission is made.

§  Forms will be considered valid only if candidates make successful online submission of application forms and upload the required documents.

§  Candidates who fail to upload the required documents during online application will not be considered in the Comprehensive Merit List (provisional).

§  The college is not liable for any erroneous information provided by the candidates.

§  Candidates can apply 24x7 during the above-mentioned period. After online submission of application and uploading of documents, applicants are required to download submitted form generated and preserve the same for future reference.

§  Each candidate can apply for a maximum of four subjects. Candidates must take a print-out of the application form generated after successful online submission and produce the same only at the time of verification or whenever required.

§  Applicants areNOT required to physically report to the college campus/ office for submission of documents or for any other reason during the admission process. Candidates can physically report to the college only after notification for the same is made by the college on the designated websites.

§  Candidates will be informed through e-mail and SMS after successful online submission of application. In case of DND settings in applicant’s contact number she may not receive any SMS. The college will not remain responsible in such cases.

§  Successful submission of application does not ensure admission of a candidate. Candidates will be selected for admission only on the basis of the Revised Comprehensive Merit List (provisional) published on the portal.

§  Admission is conducted strictly on the basis of merit.

§  Admission B.A. /B.Sc. (Honours) Degree Courses (under CBCS) will be guided by the Admission and Examination Regulations (Notification No. CSR/3/18 dated 07.05.2018 and CSR/4/18 dated 07.05.2018) and amendments made thereof by the University of Calcutta.

 

In-take capacity and Reservation:

The number of seats approved for B.A. /B.Sc. Honours courses offered by the college is given below. Admission will be conducted as per available vacancies in various categories. Reservation Policy for admission shall be guided by the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission), Act 2013 and Rules, 2014. For Persons with Disabilities (PwD), reservation will be maintained as per the relevant norms (5% of seats are reserved in each category vide G.O. No. 1084(20)-Edn(U)/EH/1U-89/13 dated 07.12.18 of Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal).

§  The Comprehensive Merit List (provisional) for every course indicates the position of an applicant as per merit in respect to other applicants. Appearance of name on the Merit Listdoes not ensure admissionto Lady Brabourne College.

§  Only candidates whose names will be published in the Call Lists will be eligible for admission.

§  After publication of Revised Comprehensive Merit List (provisional) online admission will be conducted through the college portal in several rounds.

§  Admission Schedule(s)for various rounds of online admission will be published in the portalwww.ladybrabourneadmissions.com. Online admission

§  Names of the eligible candidates will be published from time to time (round wise) in Call Lists prepared according to merit of candidates and available vacancies. Only candidates whose names appear on the Call Lists can take online admission and pay the admission fee online through this portal.

§  For every round of admission there will be separate Call Lists for the UG courses where vacancies are available and candidates will be given a particular time period for online admission for every round. The Call List will become invalid beyond the stipulated date and time.

§  A candidate failing to take online admission during the given period is liable to lose her chance of admission to the college in the selected course. Call List for one round of admission is not valid for other rounds.

§  Candidates are NOT required to report physically to the college for the process. They are however required to follow the designated admission portal of the college for notifications and instructions issued from time to time.The college will not be responsible if the candidates fail to follow instructions published on the college admission portal.

§  Cancellation: Candidates admitted to a course in this college for the session 2022-23 will be able to cancel her admission online through the portal. They are required to preserve the cancellation voucher generated during online cancellation for future reference. There is no provision for offline cancellation of admission.

§  During the online admission process, a candidate already admitted to a course in this college in an earlier round of admission, can shift to another course of

the candidate’s choice during a later round of admission, provided her name appears in the respective Call List valid for the said later round. In such cases the candidate must cancelher previous admission online before proceeding to take admission to the course of her choice. A candidate cannot occupy more than one seat at the same time in the college.

§  If a candidate decides to get admitted to any other institution after admission to a course in Lady Brabourne College, the said candidate should immediately cancel her seat in this college. Candidates are requested to refrain from unnecessary blocking of seats for the sake of good order.

§  It must be noted that if a candidate cancels her admission to a particular course, she cannot claim seat in that course later.

§  All online admission is provisional and is subject to verification of relevant documents. The college reserves its rights to cancel a candidate’s admission if

§  Payment of admission fees: At the time of admission a candidate will have to make online payment of fees. No admission will be valid without successful payment of admission fees.Payment of fees at the time of admission will be made in online mode only.

Fees payable during admission:

 

v  For all B.A. Honours Courses: Rs 3851/-

v  For all B.Sc. Honours Courses except Economics: Rs 4621/-

v  For B.Sc. Honours Course in Economics: Rs 4096/-

 

§  Refund: Refund against cancellation of admission will be processed as per

U.G.C. guidelines against production of valid documents. Mode of payment and procedure of refund will be notified later. Candidates must follow notifications published on the college admission portal.

§  Registration under “WISH-LIST”:

The College has kept a provision for candidates to register their willingness for admission to Lady Brabourne College under a particular stream though registering under “Wish-List”. The link for the Wish-List Registration will be made available on the college admission portal in due time. Only applicants whose names have appeared in the Revised Comprehensive Merit List (provisional) will be able to register under “Wish-List”.Applicants are instructed to follow the admission portal for all subsequent notices andregister their names under the Wish Listwithout fail whenever notified.

 

Registration of Students under the University of Calcutta:

§  Students’ Registration under the University of Calcutta will be initiated after completion of the online admission process. Candidates admitted to Lady Brabourne College will be intimated about the procedure of Registration through notification published on the admission portal. Candidates will have to follow the instructions accordingly.

 

Hostel Accommodation:

§  Outstation applicants may apply for accommodation in the hostel of Lady Brabourne College. For the above, applicants are required to check the hostel option on each application form during online application and register their names.

However, after completion of the admission process a candidate in need of hostel accommodation may appeal to the college authorities for a seat which may be considered on availability of vacancy.

Prior notification regarding Hostel Admission will be issued to the admitted students who are eligible for hostel accommodation.The candidates will have to report to the campus for Hostel Admission and pay required hostel fees at the time of occupancy of hostel seats.
