applicants aspiring to take up Honours in Education , History & Political
Science will have to appear in an Admission Test in their respective medium
of instruction. The Test will be of 25 Marks based on unseen topics such as
comprehension test and paragraph writing and will be of one hour duration.
The date of Test will be 12 th June 2017 and the Time will be 8.00AM to
9.00AM. They must bring their Application Deposit Receipt / Challan with them
which will be treated as their Admit card.Merit List will be prepared on the
basis of Best of 4 Total plus Subject Total plus Marks scored in the
admission Test.. The
Applicant aspiring to take up Honours in English, Bengali, Geography &
Economics should take note that the Merit list will be prepared on the basis
of calculation of the best 4 total and the marks they have secured in the

Admission
Qualifications
(a)
A Candidates who passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent
Examination in 2012 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the 1st year
of the 3-year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours & General) course of Studies Provided
she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
(b)
(a)Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational
examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education
and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (General) 1st year
Course of studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only. However,
candidates who have passed the aforesaid H.S.Examination in Business &
Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to the B.Com. (Major) 1st year
Course of Studies under this University. However, no candidate shall be allowed
for admission after a lapse of more than 5 (five) years from the year of
passing the previous qualifying examination.
(Explanation
: The year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating five
year from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination).
(c)
For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to
B.A./B.Sc. Honours Course, aggregate marks, obtained at the pre-qualifying
Examination, shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in
order of marks, secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory
Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation
of aggregate marks. If the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an
elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of
determining the aggregate marks.
(d)
Those making on line application for admission, a merit list will be published
strictly following norms set by the college authority as per University rules.
(e)
Eligibility for making on line application, however dose not guarantee
admission.
(f)
Marks obtained in Painting, Art, Fine Arts and other non-allied subjects will
not be taken into account.
(g)
Separate on line application forms should be used when a student opts for
Honours in different subjects.
(h)Foreign
Students, including those from Bangladesh, must submit, in advance, Students’
Visa and such other documents as are essentially required under the rules of
the Government of India / University of Calcutta.
Migrating
Candidates
Students
who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination or its equivalent from
the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC & National Institute of Open
Schooling) need not require to submit Migration Certificate for getting
Registration under the University.

22% for Scheduled Castes:
The
College will not accept SC/ST certificates other than Original or
acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources
along with Father’s Certificate.
(b)
6% for Scheduled Tribes:
The
College will not accept SC/ST certificates other than Original or
acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources
along with Father’s Certificate.
(c)
OBC – A 10% :
The
college will not accept OBC-A certificates other than Original or
acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources
along with Father’s Certificate.
(d)
OBC – B 7% :
The
college will not accept OBC-B certificates other than Original or
acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources
along with Father’s Certificate.
(e)
Maximum of 3% for Physically Challenged:
As
per the University of Calcutta subject to the valid certificate from the
Presidency Surgeon/Chief Medical Officer of the District is essential.
(f)
2% For Sports Person:
For
availing Sports Quota candidates must produce certificate of Participation on
Nation/State Level Meet.
(g)
The list of SC and ST is State/UT specific. As such a member of SC or ST is
elegible for benefits in his state of origin only. A member of SC and ST
community, to migrate to other State/UT is not entitled get SC/ST benefits,
from the state of Migration. A SC person who migrates form State of Punjab to
Rajasthan but he will continiue to get benifits of the State of its origin,
i.e. Punjab. But he will be eligible for benifits avaliable under Central Govt.
and its Agencies in State of Rajasthan also.
(h)
If adequate number of Scheduled Tribe candidates is not available, remaining
seats shall be made available to Scheduled Caste candidates first. If adequate
number of Scheduled Caste Candidates is not available,
remaining seats shall be made available to Scheduled Tribe candidates first. If
adequate number of Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe candidates is not
available, even after that, the seats may be made available to General category
Candidates provided approval is available from Appropriate Government Department.
Outstanding
Sports Person means a Person who has represented the State or Nation in the
National or International level Sports events.
If
selected for Admission, such Sports persons must produce Certificate (s) in
Original from appropriate authority, which will be adequately verified from
such authority before admitting those Sports persons. If at the time of
verification, any of those certificates are found to be false, admission shall
be cancelled and complaint will be lodged in the appropriate forum
Exact
date of commencement of submission of Online Application will be Notified in
the College website and in the College Notice Board after the publication of
West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination Result 2017.All other necessary
information will be available in the College website and Notice Board at
appropriate time.
