Bakreshwar's Acharyapara Eighteen-Armed Goddess Durga

Devotees come to the Satipeeth of Bakreshwar throughout the year. Besides, especially during the four days of Durga Puja, many people have their destination in Bakreshwar's Acharyapara. Because here Uma is worshiped in the form of Ashtadashbhuja Devi. The 18 hand Mahishasuramardini made of hard stone is worshiped here for several days of puja according to special rituals.

Many people of Bakreshwar flock here for several days of Puja. Everyone worships the mother, so that everyone's desires are fulfilled. Manoranjan Acharya, Amar Acharya, who served this temple, said that it is not yet known how long the puja of this hard rock has started. However, I know that this puja is being performed from approximately 400 to 500 years ago. Although it is a daily service, the mother is worshiped according to special rituals for four days of puja. On the Navami day, special indulgences are offered along with animal sacrifices. People of the area know it as the oldest Durga.

Many say that whatever is asked of the goddess during the puja, she fulfills it.
