Kauan Basile Ferreira (born 21 June 2012) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder or forward for Santos.
Born on 21 June 2012 in Brazil, Basile is the son of former Brazilian footballer Andrezinho and has Italian ancestry through his mother. During his childhood, he played futsal and cited Brazilian star Neymar and Venezuelan international Yeferson Soteldo as his footballing idols.
Career
At the age of eight, Basile signed a sponsorship agreement with American sportswear company Nike, becoming the youngest athlete to secure a sponsorship deal with the brand. He later joined the Santos youth academy, where he developed through the club's youth system.
Playing style
Basile primarily operates as a midfielder but is also capable of playing as a forward. A left-footed player, he is noted for his versatility across attacking positions.
