Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana (born 13 July 2007) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right winger for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team. Widely regarded as one of the world's best young footballers, he is celebrated for his exceptional dribbling, creativity, vision, and technical ability.
Born in Esplugues de Llobregat, Catalonia, to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, Yamal joined Barcelona's renowned La Masia academy in 2014 after beginning his football journey with La Torreta. He made his first-team debut in April 2023 at just 15 years old, becoming one of the youngest players in the club's history.
Yamal established himself as a first-team regular during the 2023–24 season, breaking numerous age-related records in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. In the following campaign, he played a crucial role in Barcelona's domestic treble, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de EspaƱa. He also claimed consecutive Kopa Trophy awards in 2024 and 2025 and finished runner-up for the 2025 Ballon d'Or. Internationally, Yamal represented Spain at every major youth level before making his senior debut in 2023 at the age of 16, becoming the country's youngest player and goalscorer. At UEFA Euro 2024, he helped Spain win the championship, earning the tournament's Young Player Award while setting records as the youngest player, goalscorer, and finalist in European Championship history. He later featured prominently in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, helping Spain reach the final.
A left-footed winger, Yamal is known for his pace, close control, precise passing, and ability to create chances from wide areas. His playing style has drawn comparisons with Barcelona legends Lionel Messi and Neymar.
