Akshay Kumar has started shooting for Kesari, based on the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. Akshay Kumar posted a picture from Kesari set.

 The Bollywood actor posted a picture with kids from the sets of the film and wrote, "Innocent smiles galore on set today! Shooting with these lovely children playing Afghani kids in #Kesari based on the Battle Of Saragarhi, one of the bravest battles fought in India." 

Akshay is seen in his turbaned look from the film. Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari is Akshay Kumar's first collaboration with filmmaker Karan Johar. Actress Parineeti Chopra is in the lead female role with Akshay in the film.

Padwoman from Madhya Pradesh wants Akshay Kumar to show Padman film in village schools

A US-returned woman scientist, working towards educating tribal women about menstrual health and providing them with cheap sanitary pads, has urged Akshay Kumar to screen the movie Padman in village schools and hostels. Maya Vishwakarma, popularly known as `padwoman' or `pad-jijji' in the tribal areas of Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh, has written a letter to Akshay Kumar, urging him to arrange a screening of the movie, which deals with the issue of menstrual hygiene, in schools and hostels in villages.

Maya Vishwakarma has returned to her village Mehragaon in Narsinghpur district from the US, where she went for higher studies, and is devoting her energy in spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene among tribal women.

In the letter, Vishwakarma said the Bollywood star should talk to state governments and convince them to declare the movie tax-free so that it reaches a large number of people across the country. Prompted by her own experience of unsafe menstrual hygiene during her early years, Vishwakarma started her mission two years ago. 

Maya Vishwakarma said only 24 percent of the women in Madhya Pradesh use sanitary pads.

During the promotions of her upcoming film 'Maatr', Raveena was asked about her reactions to the same. Taking a mature stand, Raveena Tandon said that she refused to believe these allegations without seeing for herself what Twinkle really said. When it was mentioned that Twinkle said it in good humour, Raveena then went on to state that they are "friends". Stating that people in the film industry know one another, she also added that they all "meet each other regularly". While we may never know for certain what bond the two ladies share, Akshay was all praises for his former co-star saying, "It was a great honour working with Raveena. We have done many films together and also good songs. 'Tip tip barsa pani' is still one of my favourite songs. It is an amazing song. We have done four-five films and each one has been a hit in its own way."

Padmaavat PadMan and Aiyaary Release Dates

Akshay Kumar has again changed the release date of his upcoming film PadMan. The new date of release of the film is 9 February 2018, which was scheduled to release on 25 January.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali requested actor Akshay Kumar to shift the release date of his upcoming movie PadMan to February 9, ensuring that Bhansali's film Padmaavat gets a solo release on 25 January.

Screening of the film Padmaavat in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana is doubtful still the re-schedule of PadMan release date is a boon for Padmaavat.

On 19 January, the decision to postpone PadMan’s release was announced at a press conference at Akshay Kumar’s Juhu residence that was jointly addressed by the actor and Bhansali.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali expressed his gratitude to Akshay saying “You know Padmaavat has faced a lot of hardship. The release date was his. We requested him to shift the release as he is a big star.I will be grateful to him for a lifetime for what he has done. This is for the world to understand that this is how we respect each other, stand by each other. As a fraternity, we are proud of what Akshay has done.” 


Akshay Kumar said, “It is essential for them to release the film as quickly as possible as they have a lot at stake. His need is more than me, I can understand that.”

Actress Deepika Padukone said in a Twitter post, “On behalf of Team Padmaavat, a big big Thank You to Team Padman for your support and generosity.”

Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra starer film Aiyaary is scheduled to release on 9 February and they are not happy with the change.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has again proved that he a man with golden heart. Akshay has donated Rs 1.08 crore to the families of twelve slain jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force who were killed in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district after a group of the Naxals' armed militia ambushed a road opening party in the area's Bheji village on Saturday, 11 March 2017.

The actor was in regular touch with IPS officer Amit Lodha, DIG of Jaisalmer sector north. Akshay enquirer about this encounter and requested Lodha to share all pertinent details of the slain jawans' kin. After going through the details, Akshay expressed his desire to donate Rs 9 lakh each to families of the martyred jawans.

Shooting of the most talked about film '2.0' has come to an end and the film is expected to be released on Diwali this year. The trailer of the film 2.0 will be out on 29 September which is just a month before its grand release on 18 October.
