Karwa Chauth celebrations in Bollywood

The entire country celebrates the festival of Karwa Chauth today and Bollywood actresses have also joined like previous years. Several celebrities from film and television industry have shared pictures of their celebration.

Actress Raveena Tandon was seen with her gang of ladies, Maheep Kapoor, Sunita Kapoor and others. Maheep Kapoor shared a picture of the ladies and also added a special note on how they all missed Sridevi on the special day as Sri used to be with them every year on this festival.

Television stars and newlyweds Yuvika Chaudhary and Prince Narula also celebrated their first Karwa Chauth. Prince also have fasted through the day to give his wife company.

Television host Roshni Chopra also shared pictures from her celebrations with caption “This one day in the year, I will not eat or drink all day to remind myself that you are what gives me strength! That our bond, unbreakable like a diamond, is what matters the most! You’re my numero uno @sidakumar! Let’s keep this rare thing we’ve got going real! Oh yeah.. and keep the diamonds coming,” 

Actor Gautam Rode also shared a picture with his wife Pankhuri. “Its our first Karva Chauth today and I decided to fast for her too. But yes besides that it is a day to make her feel special and what better than Jewellery! ,”

FIR against Raveena Tandon for shooting inside Lingaraj Temple

FIR has been lodged against Raveena Tandon for shooting advertisement inside Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. The authorities of Sri Lingaraj Temple have lodged an FIR against veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon for shooting an advertisement in the ‘No Camera Zone’ inside the ASI protected lord Shiva shrine.

The incident come to the fore after a video surfaced in social media featuring Tandon offering beauty tips inside the temple premises and it is recorded by a person with a mobile phone. Raveena had visited the temple on Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Stating that people in the film industry know one another, she also added that they all "meet each other regularly". While we may never know for certain what bond the two ladies share, Akshay was all praises for his former co-star saying, "It was a great honour working with Raveena. We have done many films together and also good songs. 'Tip tip barsa pani' is still one of my favourite songs. It is an amazing song. We have done four-five films and each one has been a hit in its own way."

Crimes in India have been on a constant rise of late. As a mother, this really scares me. Sometimes, we read about horrifying incidents in the newspapers or watch these gruesome acts being discussed on television; during such times, my worst fears begin to haunt me. As a mother, a person’s thoughts are a lot different than how they would have been otherwise.

As of today, more than 34,000 rape cases are lodged every year, which is just a miniscule fraction of incidents that have actually occurred. Because of this, I am always on my guard. My blood boils when I read about people being harmed, about young boys and girls and their helpless parents.

Dear young boys, all I can tell you is STOP. Stop objectifying women. Stop looking at them like they are some kind of commodity. Stop thinking that you’re automatically entitled to the women you see around you.

Dear young girls, my heart goes out to you. When the society fails to protect you, it is important for you to understand that it’s all in your hands now. It is time to learn to voice your grievances and fight back against the men who ogle at you, pass lewd comments, and even dare to touch you inappropriately.

And lastly, I want to address the parents. It is undoubtedly crucial to teach your daughters how to defend themselves, but it is imperative that you teach your sons not to attack in the first place. The day this happens will be the day our country is truly safe for women.

India can be a haven for women only if everyone works together towards the cause. Having said this, I urge everyone – men, women and others alike – to raise their voices against such atrocities, and work towards a safer tomorrow. You wouldn’t want a nasty incident to happen to someone close to you, right? So, act today!

Actress Tabu was suppose to play the female protagonist opposite Irrfan Khan in 'Silver Jubliee' but another matured Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon will play the female lead in the film. Earlier there was a rumour that Vidya Balan may replace Tabu but ultimately is is Raveena Tandon who has replaced Tabu.

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon was recently in the US to perform at an event celebrating India's Independence Day. The actress had to face misbehaviour of one of the organisers. Raveena tweeted that the man was drunk and there was no security to step in and control him.

Raveena Tandon was at Los Angeles and the organizer was upset that his children didn't get to travel with Raveena in the car. He started shouting nasty comments till she asked some people to control him.  

"In LA after two glorious days, of spending the Independence Day celebrations- sadly a bad ending. All was going well. Till a drunk got on stage. Some chap... started misbehaving, and padding comments, sadly all security was down and couldn't get to him first. (He) was one of the organisers and was upset that his kids didn't get to travel in my car with me to the event, which security and protocol didn't allow. Started making nasty remarks till I had to yell out to the others to get some other guys up... And that's when they took him away! But yes I did give him a piece of my mind too.. That's no way to talk to anyone- when I didn't even know what he was upset about...," Raveena tweeted.

Raveena is also working in Onir's next, Shab and she told: "The first time I actually got to know the details about my role was when Onir was explaining it to someone else. All I got was a call where he said I am making a film and you have to be in it. He is a dear friend and that's why I agreed. Later I found out that the film's cast had workshops and when I asked Onir about that, he said tumhe kya workshop chahiye? That's how it is when you work with friends. Koi seriously hi nahi leta." 

So far as film Bombay Velvet is concerned, Raveena said: "Anurag is another close friend and we go way back to Shool days. I got a very excited phone call from him about the movie and he was like, 'You have to be in it and I am not listening to a no at all'. Raveena further told that "I don't do these films for the money, it's just for my friends. For me, I am happily married and I have my two kids who I have to run around and take care of. I am happy being at home and taking care of those roles. I don't have to work because I want to see myself on screen. There are many scripts that come to me, but I am not interested. I am not in that space where I have to work for money, or my husband is out of a job or I want to re-invent and re-enter films and be glamorous and live in the limelight forever. I don't live in that sort of a dream and I am not delusional."

Raveena Tandon may file a case against organizer of the Jaipur International Film Festival

Raveena Tandon was recently in Jaipur to attend organizer of the Jaipur International Film Festival. Raveena is planning to file a case against Hanuman Chaudhary alias Hanu Roj, the organizer of the Jaipur International Film Festival. Raveena Tandon said that she attended the JIFF 2013 in February and a cheque was issued to her for her airfare. The cheque has bounced.

Hanu said that he sent a blank cheque to Raveena Tandon and the actress filled the cheque with an amount Rs. 43,00 or 44,000. Hanu said that the amount is much more than the one-way business class ticket which they had promised.
