This is a new constituency after delimitation.
In 2021 West Bengal assembly election, Abdul Khaleque Molla of Trinamool Congress won Metiaburuz assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ramjit Prasad of BJP. Abdul Khaleque Molla got 151,066 votes and Ramjit Prasad got 31,462 votes.
In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Abdul Khaleque Molla of Trinamool Congress won Metiaburuz assembly seat.
In 2011 assembly election, Mumtaz Begum of Trinamool Congress won Metiaburuz assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Badruddoza Mollah of CPI (M). Mumtaz Begum got 55,003 votes, Badruddoza Mollah got 48,409 votes and Abdul Khaleque Mollah an independent candidate got 24,143 votes.
