West Bengal state government
has arranged a food festival at Milan Mela ground, Kolkata from 30 October. Rare
varieties of rice, meat and fishes will be the major attractions of the festival.
The festival “Ahare
Bangla” will continue for four days at Milan Mela grounds will feature unique
food products from the state, including agricultural produce, fish, meat etc.
Rare and special
varieties of rice like black aromatic rice, short grained aromatic rice ‘kalo
nunia’, ‘gobinda bhog’,and ‘tuali panji’ will be available for visitors. Meat
products such as quail, turkey, rabbit, emu, pork and fish like ‘vennami’,
‘pungus’, and ‘Vietnam koi’ will be available in the mela.
