Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa very critical



 Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest on 04 December 2016 evening, Sunday and continues to be very critical and is on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and life support systems as said by Apollo Hospitals.

68 year old Jayalalithaa was admitted to hospital on 22 September 2016 with complaints of fever and dehydration. She was later put ventilator and treated with antibiotics for infection and lung congestion.

A team of doctors including UK-based intensivist Dr Richard Beale and a team of doctor from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, comprising pulmonologist Dr G Khilnani, anaesthesiologist Dr Anjan Trikha and cardiologist Dr Nitish Nayak joined the team of doctors at Apollo Hospitals to treat her. 

UK doctor Richard Beale says everything possible is done to give Jayalalithaa the best chance of survival.
