Sukanta Kumar Paul got 102,445 votes and Debtanu Bhattacharjee got 76,240 votes.

In 2016 West Bengal assembly election, Asit Mitra of Congress defeated his nearest rival Tushar Kanti Sil of AITC to win Amta assembly seat.

Asit Mitra got 89,149 votes and Tushar Kanti Sil got 84,645 votes.

In 2011 West Bengal assembly election, Asit Mitra of Congress defeated his nearest rival Rabindra Nath Mitra of CPI (M) to win this assembly seat.
