After delimitation, Bidhannagar is a new assembly constituency.
In 2021 assembly election, Sujit Bose of Trinamool Congress won Bidhannagar assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Sabyasachi Dutta of BJP. Sujit Bose got 75,912 votes and Sabyasachi Dutta got 67,915 votes.
In 2016 assembly election, Sujit Bose of Trinamool Congress won Bidhannagar assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Arunabha Ghosh of INC.
In 2011 assembly election, Sujit Bose of Trinamool Congress won Bidhannagar assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Palash Das of CPI (M). Sujit Bose got 88,642votes, Palash Das got 52,717votes and Ashoke Sarkar of BJP got 5,877 votes.
