First Phase of Chhattisgarh assembly election 2013 has begun today amid high security. In last two assembly elections in the state BJP formed the government, so this is a hat-trick chance for the party.
The fate of chief minister Raman singh and three other ministers will be decided today. Total 143 candidates are contesting from 18 constituencies. The polling in 12 constituencies of Bastar and one in Rajnandgaon district has begun from 7am and polling of other constituencies has begun at 8 am.
The constituencies where polling is being going on are Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji, Mohla-Manpur, Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Keshkal, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Chitrakot, Dantewada, Bijapur and Konta.
Total number of women voters for first phase of polling are 14,78,659 and male voters are 14,53,730.
Till now there is no news of any disturbances.
