# Sports Quota- Candidates applying under Sports Quota should have represented District/State/National
Team in any recognized event. Sportspersons who have represented reputed clubs in competitions
recognized by appropriate state associations may also be considered eligible.


Eligibility Criteria

A)Only WBCHSE/ISC/CBSE/NIOS/WBCROS students can apply and will be selected for admission.
B)FOR ALL STUDENTS INTENDING TO APPLY-
a)Only candidates passing out H.S./Equivalent Examination in 2016 and 2017 are eligible to apply.
b)Candidates should pass in ENGLISH in a 100 Marks Paper.
C)Criteria for Honours Course (General Category)
a)B.A. and B.Sc. Honours
A candidate intending to take up Honours course in a subject must have obtained:
i.A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (Calculated by adding the marks in top four subjects (except environmental studies) in order of marks secured by a student) and 45% marks in the concerned subject or related subject* (See List of Related Subjects) at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
ii. 55% marks in the concerned subject or related subjects*
OR
iii.50% marks in the aggregate, when the subject is not studied. (provided all other clauses are satisfied)
iv.Marks in compulsory Environmental Education/Studies will not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. If the subject Environmental Science is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken in to account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
II.B.Com. Honours
i.A minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate (Calculated by adding the marks in top four subjects (except environmental studies) in order of marks secured by a student) and 60% marks in the concerned subject or related subject* (See List of Related Subjects) at the previous qualifying examination.

D) Criterion for Honours Course(SC/ST Category)* for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.
A candidate intending to take up Honours course in a subject must have obtained:
A minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or
related subject* (See List of Related Subjects) at the previous qualifying
examination. (provided other clauses are satisfied)
E)Special Conditions for Admission in different Honours Courses :
a)Mathematics (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
b)Chemistry (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
c)Physics (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination.
d)Economics (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
e)Physiology (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination.
f)Botany (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination.
g)Zoology (Honours) - Candidates must pass in Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination.
F)Criteria for General Course of studies
a)General Category
i.B.A. (General) – Pass marks in aggregate and pass marks in subjects which he/she intends to study.
ii.B.Com (General) – Pass marks in aggregate with subject(s) (mentioned below) passed at the previous qualifying examination:
Accountancy / Business Economics including Business Mathematics / Business Organization / Mathematics / Economics / Statistics / Commerce / Accounts / Business Studies / Financial Accounting / Office and Secretarial Practice / Elements of Cost Accountancy and Auditing / Book Keeping / Business Mathematics / Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management / Commercial Law and Preliminaries of Auditing / Costing and Taxation.
iii.B.Sc. General (Physical Sc.) - Pass marks in aggregate and pass marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
iv.B.Sc. General (Bio Sc.) - Pass marks in aggregate and pass marks in Biology at the previous qualifying examination.
b)SC/ST Category*
i.B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com (General) – Pass marks in aggregate.
*SC/ST APPLICANTS FROM OTHER STATES WILL BE CONSIDERED AS GENERAL CANDIDIATES
