Somnath Chatterjee is in critical condition. Former Lok Sabha speaker and expelled CPI (M) leader is battling for life. Somnath Chatterjee is suffering from kidney ailment and presently he is under ventilation support. Today the 89 years old politician has suffered a massive heart attack which has worsened his condition.
On 10 August, Somnath Chatterjee was admitted to a South Kolkata private hospital due to declined health condition.
Somnath Chatterjee was a 10 times Lok Sabha MP from CPI (M) and he was a great parliamentarian. Somnath Babu was Speaker of Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009. Somnath Chatterjee joined CPI (M) in 1968 and was there till 2008.
Somnath Chatterjee married Renu Chatterjee in 1950 and they have one son, Pratap and two daughters, Anuradha and Anushila.
