Film stars contesting elections in not a new in our country although South is ahead of other zones of India. Recently the same trend is observed in West Bengal, especially in Trinamool Congress party. Trinamool Congress has many MLAs and MPs from filmy background. Tapas pal and Shatabdi Roy were followed by Debashree Roy, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Sandhya Roy, Moon Moon Sen and Dev are now in politics, they are either MP or MLA.
Assembly election 2016 in West Bengal is knocking the door and all parties are busy to finalise their candidate lists. Trinamool Congress supremo, Mamata Banerjee recently said that there would be many changes in this year candidate list and many new faces will be seen.
Mamata Banerjee’s closeness with Tollywood actors and actresses is known to all. Rumour is that in this assembly elections in West Bengal many filmy personalities will be seen in the candidate list of Trinamool Congress. The names of Soham Chakraborty, June, Hiraan, Srabanti Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan, Arindam Sil and Jagmohan Dalmiya's daughter Vaishali are discussed within the Trinamool as possible candidates.
