How to reach – transport services
Suri is well connected with other places of West Bengal through train and bus services. Both private and state buses are available from Howrah, Burdwan, Durgapur etc. Hatjanbazar old age home is 10 minutes rickshaw journey from Suri bus stand. For Bakreshwar old age home, bus services are available from Suri bus stand. It takes nearly 30 minutes to reach Bakreshwar from Suri via bus.
Facilities and expenses in these old age homes
Hatjanbazar old age home is a state sponsored home for seniors. There is no expense to stay here. Nearly 80% of expenses come from State Government grant and the rest is from donation. One has to apply in the Ashram to become boarder of this old age home.
For the Bakreshwar old age home, initial deposit is Rs. 20,000 and monthly payment is Rs. 2000.00. For medical purpose Rs. 30,000 is to be deposited which is refundable if not utilized for treatment.
Initially old citizens have to stay in this old age home as paying guest for one month and afterwards they are enrolled as permanent boarder of the old age home.
