Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chottopadhyay pair back again with film Praktan

Prosenjit and Rituparna in Praktan

Second innings of Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chottopadhyay in Tollywood has begun. After 14 years, Prosenjit and Rituparna pair working in Shiboprosad-Nandita’s film Praktan. Shooting of the film has been started.

Fourteen years is a long time. Prosenjit-Rituparna pair worked in many super hit films earlier and they are considered as the most successful romantic pair in Bengali films after Uttam Kumar-Suchitra Sen pair.

Both Rituparna and Prosenjit are excited about the film. Rituparna and Prosenjit are again coming closer is a good news for Bengali film industry. Why Ritu and Prosenjit did not worked together for last 14 years is still unknown. It is a better sign that the ice is melting and both are coming closer keeping their ego asides. Bengali films need Prosenjit and Ritu together as both of them are still integral part of Bengali films.

Rituparna Sengupta herself knows that fans are expecting a lot from them. Ritu said: “Well, people are certainly curious about us not working together for such a long time and I am sure there will be a lot of excitement among our fans.

It seems that Prosenjit is ready to overcome all previous differences between them. Actually both Rituparna and Prosenjit are very sentimental. Prosenjit said: “Let’s not talk about why we did not work together for 14 years. The fact that we are working again is not only good for us, it’s good for the industry too. And I never said I wouldn’t work with Ritu.... We were the most talked-about pair, having done over 50 films together. There were a few offers a couple of years ago but nothing that got us excited.”

Most interesting news is that after film Praktan, Shiboprosad and Nandita will make another film, Gauhar Jaan, with Rituparna and Prosenjit. The film will be based on Vikram Sampath’s My Name is Gauhar Jaan!.
